  1. Can you please help me how can I add an adsense widget to my right navigation. When I tried to configure it, I was not sure what to put in title and Adsense fields. Please help.

    Thanks,
    Danny

  2. Hi Danny,

First, activate the AdSense Deluxe and AdSense Deluxe Widget plugins from your site admin dashboard>Plugins

    Next click on Options>AdSense Deluxe

On that page you can name your default instance of AdSense whatever you want, place your code in the second box and save.

Now, at the top of that page you’ll see something like this:

    Copy that.

Go over to Presentations>Widgets and add the AdSense Deluxe Widget to your sidebar by dragging it up.

Click on the little icon on the right hand side of the AdSense widget and paste in the code into the text box.

Close the widget box and click on Save Changes.

Now if you need to modify the AdSense code, go back to Options>AdSenseDeluxe and click on edit next to your default AdSense and make the changes to your code there.

    Save it, and you’re done.

  3. Thanks a lot for the help. I finally did it. Just wondering if you can give some love to my blog. I’ll greatly appreciate it.

    Cheers,
    danNY

  4. Hi there,

Good day. Just wondering if you can teach me how to edit the footer in my blog and also is there anyway an html code will work when included in my post?

    I’d appreciate your response.

    Thanks,
    DAnny

P.S. Give some love if you don’t mind. Thanks.I’d appreciate a digg and stumble.

  5. Hi Danny,

The footers are set by the theme creators. The only way to change them is to change the footer.php in the theme itself, which would mean anyone else using that theme would have your modified footer on it.

So its not possible to do here, sorry.

To add some html coding to your posts, just write out your post then click on the “code” view button. There you can add your html.

Or if you just want to create anchor text, you can highlight the words you want as anchors, click the link icon (the chain) and insert your link.

  6. Thanks for the response. I’m aware of the code feature but what I was particularly after is if the code I’m going to insert are separates like the first one needs to be inserted on the tag and the other is inside the tag.

Is this possible on this platform?

    Thanks,
    Danny

  7. Can you be a little more specific? I’m not sure I follow what you want to do.

  8. Coz I got this two codes saying to paste the first one inside the tag and the other one inside the tag. So I was wondering how can I do that?

    Thanks,
    DAnnY

  9. One more thing, how come the adsense isn’t working anymore if I change it with different ad format? I had a banner ad unit below every post in my blog and when I changed it to link unit, it didn;t show up anymore. I’d appreciate your response.

    Thanks,
    DanNY

  10. I’m still not following you on your first question.

For the part about the change to the link unit, there’s really no reason why it wouldn’t show up if you have the codes in there correctly.

  11. Well I just noticed that it’s only the link unit that’s not working. I’ve changed the link unit back to ad unit (square) and it’s working just fine.

Does link unit doesn’t work on this platform?

    DanNy

    P.S.
In regards to my htmlcoding question. I have these two codes I want to paste saying the first one should be pasted inside the head tag and the other code should be inside the body tag. Can I do that?

  12. Any response please.

    Thanks,
    DAnny

  13. Hi Danny,

    In a word, no.

You would have to be able to access the header.php and footer.php for your theme. Because all users have the choice of the same themes, it’s impossible to add code for one user.

Now as far as your adsense codes go, if one works they should all work.

Are you setting up different ad bocks for each instance you want adsense to be?

You need one for your sidebar, another to add within the text body, and another one for link units. But chances are, if you use an adsense block in with your text, you may not be able to add a link block after your posts too.

    Ken

  14. Yeah I’m using an ad unit inside the post and trying to use a link unit at the end of the post as well.

  15. It should work if you name the link block something other than the block you have in your text. Make sure you’re using the right code too.

  16. Hey just got a question again. Is there any way that I can put something on my right navigation bar usingan html code? I mean there;s no widget available to insert html/javascript code and just wondering is there any other way to achieve that?

    Thanks,
    Danny

  17. If you use a text widget, Danny, you should be able to put html code in it. I’ve used the text widget for inserting banner ads before and it works fine.

Unfortunately, Wordpress blocks any use of javascript in widgets unless they have something like the AdSense widget where it has a section to convert JS to a

  18. Thanks for the response. Can you instruct me how to do it using the text widget? So you mean any html code will work in text widget?

    Thanks in advance,
    Danny

  19. Just add another text widget and place your html code in it. As long as you avoid javascript it should work just fine.

Just keep in mind that sidebars aren’t very wide so adjust your html parameters accordingly.

    Ken

  20. Thanks a lot mate. I really appreciate your help.

    Danny

  21. Is there anyway that I can wrap up my adsense block to my contents so it will look more part of the content rather than adsense ads?

    Thanks,
    Danny

  22. That’s a tough one because AdSense allows for only so much modification. If you try to resize the blocks too much they get all distorted, and you can’t change the font.

So that basically leaves the colors. A good way to match color is to take a screen shot of your blog and open it up in your picture editor. Most have the eyedropper function that’ll give you the hex codes for any color, so you can grab them from the screen shot and replace color codes in your AdSense block to match.

That’s about all AdSense will let you do.

    Ken

  23. Thanks for the response. No I meant was to get my content to wrap up with my adsense block and I believe I don’t have to modify the adsense ads. It’s just a matter of editing the html code of the content, right? So is there anyway around that on this platform?

    Thanks,
    Danny

  24. I’ve never tried this but seeing how Wordpress uses CSS I’d imagine if you changed views in Write to Code view you could add some CSS to float your adsense insert left or right.

I tried to add an example here, but it wouldn’t show up in the comment.

    Ken

  25. Hi there,

Just wondering why my Digg icon below every post is now showing “Digg” instead of the numbers?

    I’d appreciate your response.

    Thanks,
    Danny

  26. I think this is coming from Digg. They changed their algorithm lately. Try Digging your posts again and see what happens.

    Ken

  27. hey, is it posible that we can get WP-Autoblog for linkung some other blogs?

  28. and also why dont we have AdSense-Deluxe QuickTag Menu ? :-?? i dont know how to put adsense after posts

  29. Hi Diet,

I looked for the WP-Autoblog plugin, but apparently the creator stopped offering it due to too many people abusing it. I couldn’t find anything comparable either. Sorry.

The AdSense-Deluxe Quick Tag Menu is built into the AdSense Deluxe plugin. You have to have created at least two Adsense blocks before it’ll show up in the Write area.

Using the code is fairly easy though.

When you generate an ad block, the plugin gives you the code (default is !adsense between the marks). To add that block to the bottom of your posts, go into the Code view and add it wherever you want to.

So you could conceivably have an AdSense block in the middle of a post using the default, then create another one for AdSense Links and naming the block “links” whichwould create a new code like !adsense-links that you could put at the bottom of your post.

It all has to do with copying the proper line of code from the AdSense plugin page and placing it within your posts using the Code view.

  30. Yeah i fugured it out in the end ..i was too lazy to read the “how to” just saw that button somewhere and didnt read all the way
Instead of WP-Autoblob you can use any of these
    * FeedList
    * SmartRSS
    * FeedWordPress
    * WP O’Matic

  31. I’m trying to put ebay rss feeds on my blog and all it will do is create a link to ebay rather than displaying ten items as I thought it would.

not fantastically WP savvy so it may be me, I’m not sure.

could you tell me what (if anything) I’m doing wring?

  32. Hi Jowett,

You might try putting the feed into a text widget. As long as it doesn’t have anything to do with javascripts it should work.

  33. hi, i’ve been trying to create a new blog but can’t seem to do it. has this function been disabled?

    thanks

  34. Hi Jowett,

We had to disable the sign up because we got attacked by some major sploggers. It’s taking quite a while to weed them out before we upgrade to the latest WPMU build.

We’re getting there and will reopen Rticlz.com as soon as we have it all secure and free of splogs and other trashy blogs.

  35. I’ve noticed that new blogs are being created but dont sem to be able to create any myself, could you please let me know why?

    thanks

  36. another question, i want every article to look like the fron page, with all the columns and adsense in place but older articles appear without the column layout and only the adesnse which is in the body of the text.

could you please explain how to change this?

    thanks
